Information is valuable, but only if you use it. Voting is the essence of democracy. If you're not registered to vote, you can get a registration form at the Smyrna Library and the information you need to make intelligent choices.

BIRDHOUSES

Be sure to check out the handcrafted birdhouses on exhibit in the Library display cases. George Burkett of Mableton is exhibiting samples of his handcrafted birdhouses and they are true works of art.

You may want to talk to him about moving the birds in your backyard "on up to the eastside".

Busy as Bees

WOW!

June was the busiest month in the history of the Library.

The number of items checked out increased almost 10% over the same time last year. 5,862 adult books, 8,168 juvenile books and 8,089 audiobooks and DVDs were checked.

27,831 visits were made to the library. (That's 927 people a day.) 2,030 came to the library June 20th alone.

Every SRC Club program has been booked to capacity. Over 160 parents and children attended the Snakes 'R' Us family story time.

I don't know where everyone is coming from, but you're all welcome.
